Recently, I made my own fresh, organic salad at a salad bar. It looked very tasty, and I was eagerly anticipating eating it. However, no matter what I did, the lid to the plastic container would not close. Even shaking the container to make sure the food was evenly distributed did nothing. When I came to the cash register, the kind cashier showed me how to close the container.
Would you believe it? The task was very simple; I was just pressing down beginning at the opposite end where I should have been. Can you imagine if this kind cashier had not helped me? I would have been trying to figure it out on my own for who knows how long!
Instantly, I realized how this incident relates to my health journey. Just over four years ago, I was sleeping more at night, eating more at home, reducing my stress levels (or so I thought), and doing other activities that should have helped me feel better. To my dismay, not much changed. A few hours after I woke up, it seemed like I had worked an entire day and needed another night’s rest. As a matter of fact, sleeping the entire night without interruption was an unknown luxury to me.
However, what I did not realize was that changing my approach to my health was what would make a huge change. I needed a detox from all the sugar, processed food, junk food, and fast food that I had been eating. While those toxins were still in my body, they were preventing healing from occurring. Taking care of the root issue (the toxins) rather than treating different symptoms (constant fatigue and poor immunity) was the answer!
As I began using this detox and natural remedies that my mom recommended to me, there was such a transformation in how I felt! Many small and pleasant surprises kept happening, and I have continued on this path for over four years now because I am that convinced that it is exactly what I need!
If you have hit a plateau with how you are feeling every day and you are not ok staying there, I invite you to a chat with me so that you can share with me exactly what isn’t working for your health and what you would love to change. Sometimes it’s just a matter of what you do not know that is keeping you from feeling your best.
